This absolutely beautiful vineyard is located along the Wine Trail of Wallingford, CT. They produce an assortment of fine wines, which are each expertly crafted in their cellar workshop. The owner gave us a wonderful tour of their grounds and showed us their storage facilities. We did a wine tasting of their most popular selections, and enjoyed a glass of our favorite in their dining room. I really liked their Seyval Blanc- it was unlike any wine I have ever tasted. It was on the fruitier side with a rich honey undertone. It had a deep, almost orange, color. It would pair lovely with a fall dinner.
The unique thing about Gouveia Vineyards is that they allow the public to bring their own food with them- as long as they purchase a glass/bottle to enjoy with it! The dining room and outdoor patio was packed with people celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. We will definitely plan another trip soon with friends. Great day!
